THE ANNUAL EVENT is a gathering of the state's dance community which includes master classes, seminars, discussions and performances presented by North Carolina artists, administrators, educators and advocates. Also held during the Annual Event are NCDA's membership meeting, scholarship auditions and the presentation of the NCDA Annual Award. Student and group discounts are available.

The 2008 Annual Event, with the theme of "Coming Home", will be held in the town of Roxboro, NC on October 17-19, 2008.

HEADLINE CONCERT: NCDA CHOREOGRAPHERS SHOWCASE
NCDA is accepting submissions for the 2008 Annual Event headliner concert, The Choreographers Showcase. The concert will take place in the Historic Kirby Theater on Saturday night of the event. Submissions will be adjudicated by Roxboro community studio owners and teachers. All choreographers must be current members of the NCDA. A total of five dances will be chosen. NCDA STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHERS SHOWCASE
NCDA is accepting submissions for the 2008 Annual Event Student Choreographers Showcase. The concert will take place in the Historic Kirby Theater on Friday night of the event. Submissions will be adjudicated by a small group of NCDA board members. All choreographers must be current members of the NCDA. NCDA SCHOLARSHIPS
NEW: Scholarship applications are now due prior to the Annual Event. The 2008 Scholarship application deadline is September 25, 2008
NCDA offers annual scholarships for study in dance. New recipients are chosen each year during classes at the Annual Event, based on technical and artistic merit and financial need. Participants may audition in any class offered at the event and must dance in the Class Showing for final observation. The adjudicators are class instructors and volunteers from the NCDA board of directors. Individual awards range from $125.00 to $250.00 and may be used for, but not limited to, participation in dance workshops or master classes, for conference or dance festival attendance, or daily technique classes.
How to Apply:

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING/LUNCHEON
Please attend this very important meeting in which member of NCDA gather to vote on important issues and to hear of current directions of the organization.

RESOURCE CENTER
A resource center will be available where Companies, dance programs, camps, musicians and individuals may display and distribute information. T-shirts, accompanist tapes and CDs and resource material will be available for purchase.
